TRAVEL TO COSTA RICA

At the time of raising as to explain very intense experiences and feelings the certainty comes to us from which it is impossible to do it only with word, by which they are used. For that reason, in this accumulation of sensations that we summarized here we have wished to give priority to the images, as form of approach to all the happened one throughout this trip.

And first which we must do is to thank for of special form the received support of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Obra Social of Caixa Laietana, as well as of the groups of giants of La Llacuna, Poboleda, Riudoms and Vallgorguina (all of them of the Spanish state), that with the participation of their figures have made possible east approach between giants and people.

Proud and we are satisfied with the welcome received on the part of the institutions and people of that country and hoped to be able to respond to the same level when representing officials and groups of Costa Rica gives back the travelling visit to groups to that country.

The trip has been a mixture of participation in Encounter of Giants, on the part of the groups, and of Institutional recognitions, to the C.I.A.G. and to the groups, that are transformed in the following general holders:


The numbers:

-  4 participant groups (La Llacuna, Poboleda, Riudoms and Vallgorguina).

-  More than 30,000 people (according to the organizers of the University School of Cartago) they have visited our Exhibition throughout 12 days.

-  6 performances with the giants: Orosí, Barva de Heredia, San Jose and Cartago (3, one of her was the participation in National Encuentro of the Costa Rican Traditional Mascarada).

-  They flatter with 2 giants (one of them of 4.50 meters) and a bigheaded one to us.

-  Interviews and performances in 7 programs of television.

-  Participation in the I Aid of Dance of Giants, in Cartago.


Institutional acts:

-  Official reception in the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

-  Official reception in the Council of the Municipality of the Central Corner of Cartago.

-  Official reception of the Directive Council of the University School of Cartago. Official signature in the agreement between the CUC and the CIAG.

-  Official reception in the Municipality of Barva de Heredia.

-  Official reception in the Casal Català of San Jose.

-  Official Participation in Cartago in the Civic Act of Celebration of Independence, arrival of the Act.

-  Institutional and official recognition to the work developed by the CIAG.

-  Official inauguration of the Exhibition on the world of the giants, presented by the CIAG.

-  Conference on the world of the giants, in the CUC.


Agreements:

-  Programmed, for the next years, two new visits to localities of Costa Rica on the part of groups of giants associated to the CIAG (to make specific).

-  Programmed two mascaradas visits of from Costa Rica to groups of giants associated to the CIAG throughout the next years.

-  Collaboration CUC-CIAG in the development of the next "First Central American Encounter of Mascaradas" and its parallel Congress.

-  Creation of the dedicated page Web to spread the mascaradas ones of Costa Rica.
