Prize for the Museum of the Carnival

The Museum of the Carnival of Uruguay received the 24 of April the IV Prize International Reina Sofia de Conservación and Restauración of the Cultural Patrimony by its contribution the local identity and the democratization of the art.
 
The delivery of the prize it attended the Delegate of CIAG in the Community of Madrid, Ramon Alvarez, next to the Chief of a main directorate of Soraya Cooperation Rodriguez, the intendant of Montevideo, Ricardo Ehrlich, one of the main promoters of the museum, next to other authorities.
 
As Eduardo Rabelino explained, director of the museum, to our Delegate, “the Carnival of Uruguay is the scope where they live bigheaded in our country and Museum where "they sleep" these personages during the rest of the year”.
 
Uruguay is represented before the Ciag by Mr. Benjamín Liberoff and the visit of Mr. Eduardo Rabelino has been used for a greater approach with the authorities of the Circle with the aim of presenting the tradition our giants in Montevideo.
 
Mr. Rabelino showed that “On the occasion of my visit to Madrid he did not want to let pass the opportunity to know the Circle in the community of Madrid and its giants to make know his tradition. In this sense one will take advantage the appointment during 2009 and 2010 Montevideo like first Latin American Capital the Carnival to develop to several projects of joint collaboration of the CIAG and the Museum of the Carnival”.
